Why The FDU? the answer in a sentence is to ease the transition into the emerging Information Age.
Humanity is transitioning into a new age of Information, that transition will be complete when an Information Age economic system is emerges from the currently eroding Industrial Age economic model. Ages are defined by their economic models more than any other factor; therefore we will not be in the New Age until we have a New Economic model. We need to start testing new models now because the longer the transition period between economic models, the more suffering will be experienced, as old systems crumble the only way forward will be to something new.
Today the industrial system is winding down (as the "Global Financial Crisis" now makes evident) under growing debt and ecological demands. The time has come to test something new, to leverage today's technologies, to move towards creating a sustainable future.
By using the technologies of the Information Age such as the Internet, micro-processing, wireless communications, and virtual world currencies; we can create a relatively global free community in the transcendence of cyber-space. A place where freedom and wealth can blossom with security.
So, why we need the FDU, or some other globally viable virtual free forum like it, is because we are approaching the New Age, people will either prosper by it, or be left behind. Our objective is to help people to prosper, with no one being left behind this time. The emerging markets that missed out on industrial prosperity will find fertile ground in the Information Age markets, a place where knowledge and time is translatable into value.
The average person can’t manage a website with the tools they need to earn from the digital economy, so the FDU partners and participants provide everything a person would need to begin prospering from an on-line presence.
The conscious living breathing people of the planet deserve a commercial marketplace designed to balance their human rights, the economy, and our collective environment; that is "Why the FDU."
